About the Person

Lance Myers is a pioneer and technology leader in body worn bio-sensors, remote patient monitoring and advanced analytics. He has been actively involved in physiological and biometric monitoring research and development for more than 15 years holding key technology leadership positions within the medical device and analytics industries. Prior to joining Sentrian he was a Founder and the Chief Science Officer of VivoSense., a leader in analytic software for body worn sensor systems. Prior to VivoSense he led the Physiological Systems and Interfaces Division of Archinoetics where he was responsible for the creation and commercialization of ambulatory physiological monitoring systems. At VivoMetrics he led the engineering team that pioneered the worlds first multi-channel, wearable ambulatory measurement system, the LifeShirt. During his career, Dr Myers was directly responsible for developing algorithms to provide researchers and clinicians with novel bio-markers to assess the efficacy of new treatments in clinical trials. Dr Myers was also co-founder of ID Metrix, a South African distributor of biometric monitoring solutions. Before leaving academia, Dr Myers held research positions at University College Dublin in Ireland and at the internationally acclaimed Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. He received his PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Cape Town, South Africa and has published more than 30 scientific publications, including 2 book chapters, on subjects that include physiological signal analysis, statistical machine learning, pattern recognition, and mathematical modeling. He is an invited editor for the prestigious DSP journal, a senior IEEE member and holds ten patents in the field of non-invasive physiological monitoring and predictive analytics.
