About the Person
Kurt Schaubach brings more than 20 years of experience in spectrum development, management and policy. He will play a key role in developing technologies and new business strategies for Federated Wireless as the company works to create the next-generation architecture of broadband wireless. Prior to NRTC, Schaubach led the acquisition of spectrum, and managed the spectrum portfolio, at NextWave Wireless. He worked closely with counsel at the U.S. Federal Communications Commission on regulatory compliance matters and led an industry-wide coalition to bring new technical rules and regulatory reform to the 2.3 GHz WCS band. Schaubach was also a founding member of a publicly traded wireless broadband and multimedia software company, and led the acquisition and integration of two wireless infrastructure companies. Schaubach was appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce to serve on the Commerce Spectrum Management Advisory Committee (CSMAC), which advises the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) on a broad range of spectrum policy issues. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Enterprise Wireless Association.
