Since 1890, Whitworth has held fast to its founding mission to provide "an education of mind and heart" through rigorous intellectual inquiry guided by dedicated Christian scholars. Recognized as one of the top regional colleges and universities in the West, Whitworth University has an enrollment of 3,000 students and offers 60 undergraduate and graduate degree programs. In recent years, Whitworth has enjoyed record levels of student enrollment and retention, the strongest financial position in the university`s history, and increased external visibility.
Ken holds the position of Chief Information Officer (CIO) serving as the university’s chief technology officer overseeing Information Systems and the Office of Institutional Effectiveness. He reports to the vice president for finance and administration and serves on the President’s Cabinet. As the leader of Information Systems, his primary role is to help advance the mission and strategic goals of Whitworth University by providing vision, leadership, and management of information technology for the entire university community, supporting faculty, students, and staff in their use of technology, the acquisition and support of all academic and administrative applications, and the development and support of infrastructure services, including networking, telecommunications, servers, storage and web services. As the leader of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, his primary role is to lead and support an integrated, systematic data-informed process of continuous improvement, assisting departments and cross-functional groups with designing, implementing, and assessing continuous improvement initiatives, and creating a strong center of analytical, data-informed decision support processes providing standardized and ad-hoc reporting, strategic and operational dashboards, predictive analytics, and other analytical services and resources to address strategic and tactical academic and administrative operations.
