The Minnetonka Public School District is a high performing school district proudly serving families in all or part of 10 communities: Minnetonka, Chanhassen, Deephaven, Eden Prairie, Excelsior, Greenwood, Shorewood, Tonka Bay, Victoria and Woodland. We serve approximately 9,000 students in grades K-12. Our students attend one of six elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school. All six of our neighborhood elementary schools offer English and either Spanish or Mandarin Chinese Immersion. The program expanded into our middle schools in the 2012-13 school year.
Julie Carter Starting as a teacher at Deephaven Elementary, Carter has spent her entire professional career in the Minnetonka School District. She taught Kindergarten, first grade and second grade at Deephaven before becoming their media specialist.
As media specialist, she wrote the competitive grant for Deephaven's fourth grade classrooms to pilot SmartBoards in 2002, which became a showcase for our community and staff to see and understand the power of technology to accelerate learning.
