Columbus, OH-based Ohio Presbyterian Retirement Services has Appointed Joyce Miller Evans as Chief Information Officer.  

 

About the Company

Founded in 1922, Ohio Presbyterian Retirement Services is the largest and most experienced not-for-profit provider of continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs) and services in Ohio. With headquarters in Columbus, OPRS serves more than 90,000 people in 40 Ohio counties annually through its wholly owned subsidiaries OPRS Communities, Senior Independence and OPRS Foundation. OPRS Communities operates 11 retirement communities in Ohio. Senior Independence provides home and community based services, operates 12 adult day centers and manages six senior centers, in partnership with local governments. Additionally, through its iPartner affiliates and icaregiver.org website, Senior Independence extends services to older adults throughout the nation. OPRS Foundation, raises several million dollars annually to support charity care, special programs, capital expansion and endowment.  

 

About the Person

Joyce Miller Evans serves OPRS as its Vice President/Chief Information Officer. Before joining OPRS in 2004, Miller Evans held the same position with the not-for-profit Central & Southern Ohio Chapter of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and the private UHHS/CSAHS-Cuyahoga, Inc. She was the Corporate Director of Information Services for University Hospitals Health System in Cleveland; Director of Information Systems at what is now The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus; Manager of Information System Support and Support Manager at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Ky.; and Account executive at SMS. Miller Evans holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The Ohio State University and a Master of Business Administration from University of Dayton. Miller Evans' professional successes include implementing an electronic medical record system for OPRS and directing mobile technology that increased efficiency and quality of care across Ohio. She currently is the HIPPA security officer, ensuring the safe protection of resident/client information. Miller Evans is focused on the future, moving OPRS' information systems to a private co-location cloud to support expected growth. She is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems and a Certified Healthcare CIO.
