Camden, NJ-based Campbell Soup Company has appointed Joseph Spagnoletti as Chief Information Officer.
Campbell Soup Company, also known as Campbell's, is an American producer of canned soups and related products. Campbell's products are sold in 120 countries around the world. It is headquartered in Camden, New Jersey. Campbell's divides itself into three divisions: the simple meals division, which consists largely of soups both condensed and ready-to-serve, the baked snacks division, which consists of Pepperidge Farm, and the health beverage division, which includes V8 juices. Campbell's runs a program for schools, Labels for Education.
Joseph Spagnoletti was appointed Campbell's Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer in August 2008. He leads the company’s global information technology function, providing IT strategy to help Campbell meet its business goals. Joe reports to Craig Owens, Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer. Joe is a member of the Campbell Leadership Team and the Campbell North America Leadership Team, and leads Campbell’s Global Information Technology function. Since he joined Campbell in 1997 as Director-IT, Foodservice, Joe has held positions of increasing responsibility in global sales and marketing, supply chain, and research and development. Most recently, he was Vice President-IT for Campbell North America, where he successfully led several key projects, including the implementation of a trade management system and oversight of North American SAP implementations. Previously, Joe spent seven years as an Information Technology Director with medical technology company Becton Dickinson, responsible for the medical device and acute care businesses. He began his career developing and implementing financial systems for a New York City software development firm. Joe earned his B.S. degree in computer science and mathematics from Albright College in Reading, Pa. He serves on the Campbell Soup Foundation Trustee Board, the Cooper Health System’s Board of Trustees and Audit and Ethics Committee, the Temple University Fox School of Business Advisory Board, and on the Board of Trustees for AJ’s Ribbons of Gold, which serves children with cancer. His recent industry achievements include: Computerworld Top 100 Places to Work in IT, 2010, 2012, and 2013; Temple Fox School of Business IT Leader of the Year Award, 2011; and Top 50 Distinguished CIOs, 2012. In 2004, Joe was recognized with Campbell's Influence With Honor leadership award. He is also the sponsor of Campbell's OPEN affinity network for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) employees; the Human Resources Council named Campbell one of the "Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality" in 2012.
