About the Person

Jonathan Behnke will oversee the city`s Information Technology Department, where he`s been the interim leader since last July and a manager for the past four years. In his interim role, Behnke has pursued the modernization of the city`s data centers by increasing the capabilities of a private cloud solution that will decrease support expenses and keep systems active in the event of natural disasters, according to the mayor`s office. He has also placed an emphasis on the security of the city`s data, helping to decrease vulnerabilities and increase cyber security throughout city applications. The mayor`s office said he is working closely with Maksim Pecherskiy, the city`s chief data officer, who is responsible for making municipal government data more available to the public. Behnke has 20 years of IT management experience in both the public and private sectors, according to the mayor`s office.
