The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) works to promote safety, protect the environment, and conserve resources offshore through vigorous regulatory oversight and enforcement. BSEE is the U.S. offshore oil, natural gas, and renewable energy regulator. The bureau was formally established on October 1, 2011 as part of a major reorganization of the Department of the Interior`s offshore regulatory structure.
