About the Person

Prior to this position,  John McCarron served as Charleston County School District's executive Director of Information Technology for five years. He helped transform teaching and learning by implementing a technology-enriched environment for the district. An expert in the field of integrated software and technology programming, McCarron brings more than 20 years of professional experience. He occupied various administrative roles related to the field of technology. Previous to CCSD, McCarron served as the director of technology and information resources for the College of Charleston. McCarron earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Hawaii and a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He and his wife Stephanie have two children, Haley and Luke.
