John Lynch was Vice President, Chief Information Officer at Mohawk Valley Health System in Utica, NY. Responsible for providing overall information technology strategy, direction, and innovation for the health system. Prior to joining Mohawk Valley Health System, VP CIO for Greater Hudson Valley System in Middletown, NY and System VP CIO at Provena Health in Illinois. Over 25 years of leadership experience in health care information technology and finance working for health care providers, software, and computer companies, with extensive experience with Epic, Meditech, and other health information technologies. Co-author of the book "Managing Your IT Department as a Business", 2-time winner of InformationWeek 500 Top Business Technology Innovators, and presenter at national and international healthcare IT conferences. Former member of the Illinois Health Information Exchange Advisory Committee, Illinois Health Information Exchange Technology and Interoperability Work Group and lead the first group of hospitals to go live with a regional HIE in IL. Graduate of the Massachusetts Maritime Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree with studies in Marine Transportation and Computer Science. Commissioned an Officer in the United States Navy Reserves and licensed an Officer in the United States Merchant Marines.
