John Halper is Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer of the Interpublic Group (NYSE: IPG). He has held the position of Chief Application Officer (CAO) at IPG and has held Senior IT Leadership roles at Aventis, Vivendi Universal, Joseph E. Seagrams and Sons, and Nabisco. Mr. Halper joined IPG in 2006 as IPG’s CAO. He was responsible for developing, implementing, and supporting enterprise applications that are used across IPG Operating Companies, globally. This includes, ERP Platforms, HR/Payroll, Office Automation, and Budgeting, Forecasting, & Reporting. At Aventis, Mr. Halper was responsible for Global IT Planning and Program Management. In this role he was responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance (FDA, SOX, Data Privacy) and providing Program Management for Key IT initiatives (including Infrastructure Consolidations and ERP Implementations). He also developed the company’s SAP Strategy and Architecture to lead the SAP consolidation initiative. Prior to joining Aventis, Mr. Halper served as Vice President of Corporate Applications and Head of IT Planning, Program Management & Communications for Joseph E. Seagram & Sons, Inc. and subsequently for Vivendi Universal following the acquisition of Seagram by Vivendi. At Seagram, Mr. Halper led an IT Integration Program that yielded over $100M in IT synergies in the Seagram-Vivendi merger. In his role as VP of Corporate Applications he managed a staff of 120 IT professionals supporting HR/Payroll, Finance, Tax, and Legal applications. At Nabisco, Inc. Mr. Halper served as Senior Director of Project Management & Strategic Planning, responsible for IT Financial Management, IT Strategic Planning and IT Program Management. He also was Program Director of Nabisco’s Y2K program, overseeing all IT and non-IT Y2K activities. John received a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering & Operations Research from Virginia Tech in 1981.
