Boston was first incorporated as a town in 1630, and later as a city in 1822. Although City Government played a major role in Boston`s development, the real spirit lies in the diverse and vibrant neighborhoods of the City. Today, the City is governed by the Mayor and the City Council with the assistance of various departments, agencies and commissions.
John Daley has served as the chief technology officer for the Boston Police Department since 2011. Daley joined the Boston Police Department in 1983 as a police officer, and rose steadily through the ranks during his 30-year career, serving as sergeant, sergeant detective, lieutenant and deputy supervisor. Daley holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts Boston, and attended the National Judicial College.
