About the Company
Originating in 1994, The Nexus Group has grown to become Tennessee's largest locally owned and managed technology infrastructure management company. Nexus' home is a secure 21,000 square foot building within 5 miles of the Nashville International Airport that includes over 6,000 square feet of raised floor, redundant systems data center. The data center has three telecommunications fiber carriers accessing the building (AT&T, Level3, XO) and one cable fiber carrier (Comcast). This provides Nexus customers with a carrier neutral facility and access to one of the largest networks in the state of Tennessee. The Nexus Group's network backbone is critically important to customers who understand that data center physical security must be combined with network security in order to meet strict regulatory requirements (HIPPA, PHI, PCI, etc.) The Nexus Group is SAS 70 Type II certified and audited on a yearly basis.
About the Person
Joe Atnip serves as the Director of Technology and Security. Joe brings extensive experience and skills to Nexus in the areas of data / network security, network design, and data applications. Joe's technical experience coupled with his banking experience help financial industry clients find the best solutions available for their network and data security needs. Mr. Atnip was chair of the Tennessee Bankers Association Strategic Technology Committee in 2013. He graduated from David Lipscomb University with a degree in Information Systems and previously worked for top local companies, Legends Bank as VP of IT and Information Security Officer, CORE Business Technology, and Advanced Network Solutions.
