Auburn, CA-based Placer County Water Agency has Appointed Jim Boyle as Chief Information Officer
Placer County Water Agency is the primary water resource agency for Placer County, California. PCWA carries out a broad range of responsibilities including water resource planning and management, retail and wholesale supply of irrigation water and drinking water and production of hydroelectric energy in Placer County's 1,500 square mile area. Created in 1957 under its own state legislative Act entitled the “Placer County Water Agency Act,” PCWA is self-governed with policy and regulatory decisions determined by an independently elected five member Board of Directors.
Jim Boyle comes to Placer County Water Agency from the State of California where he held key management positions in data processing and information technology with the California Department of Technology and the Secretary of State. He previously worked with the City of Sacramento as a project management officer and with Hewlett-Packard in Roseville as a program manager. Boyle is a retired U.S. Air Force colonel, a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, and a former NASA astronaut candidate finalist. He also holds a degree in computer science form Chapman University and a master's degree in aeronautics and astronautics from Purdue University
