Jim Baxley is an 18-year veteran of the technical and financial services industries. At Square 1 since February of 2012, Jim leads the technology teams as they provide solutions and outstanding customer service to the venture capital and start-up markets. Prior to joining Square 1, Jim spent 14 years at First Citizens Bank, where he provided leadership in technology, strategy, process, project, and financial management. His most recent role combined many of these disciplines as he managed the $80+million budget for the Bank’s IT division. Prior to joining First Citizens, Jim was a professional graphic designer at an RTP design and marketing firm, where he led design, client management, and technology infrastructure. Jim graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with his BA in Secondary Education in 1994. He and his family (wife Laura, sons Jay and Ben) are active in the Chapel Hill community.
