Los Angeles, CA-based LA County, Dept Public Works has Appointed Jesse Juarros as Chief Information Officer

Oversees the Chief Information Office Branch with responsibility for a wide range of duties, including IT governance, strategic planning, operations, application development, eGovernment, and contracts. Jesse Juarros joined the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works in 2004 and currently serves as the Chief Information Officer for the Department where he leads a team of 130 full-time employees; manages a $32 million dollar budget; and is responsible for directing a wide range of duties, including IT governance, strategic planning, operations, application development, eGovernment, and contracts. Under his leadership, the Department has received numerous awards for IT excellence and achievement. In June 2013, he was named the Government Sector Chief Information Officer of the Year by the Los Angeles Business Journal. In 1999, while serving as the General Manager/Chief Information Officer for the City of Los Angeles, he was named by the Journal as one of the "Top 20 Local People in the Broadband Revolution." Jesse received his bachelor of science degree in business administration from California State University, Long Beach and a master of business administration from California Polytechnic University, Pomona.
