About the Person

Jaouad Fichtali has been the Chief Technology Officer at Abattis Bioceuticals Corp. since November 17, 2014. Dr. Fichtali served as Senior Vice President of Development and Engineering at Bio Architecture Lab, Inc. He led the transition of BAL technology from the lab toward commercialization. He served as Vice President of Technology and Innovation and Vice President of Development at Martek Biosciences, where he built and managed teams from strain development to commercialization including applications development. Along with Martek, he has an established track record in research, development, manufacturing, cost reduction, and commercialization of novel processes and products. Dr. Fichtali earned his PhD from McGill University in Food Science and Agricultural Chemistry and his BS and Masters in Chemical Engineering from Louvain University in Belgium.
