James Green is the GM and CIO of Technical Computing for the Chevron Energy Technology Company. In this role, he is responsible for the strategic direction, organizational capabilities and leadership of the Technical Computing department. Technical Computing is responsible for the development, deployment, and support of Oil and Gas exploration and production applications, information management solutions, and high performance computing infrastructure. Prior to his current role Jim was the CIO, Chevron Global Gas, responsible for the strategic direction, enterprise architecture, governance and compliance of information technology solutions for the Pipeline, Shipping, Natural Gas Trading, Global Power and Gas Commercialization Business Units. Jim joined Chevron in August 2005, following Chevron’s acquisition of Unocal. At Unocal, Jim was responsible for Enterprise IT Strategy and Architecture and held several IT management roles in E&P Business Units in Houston, TX. and Lafayette, LA and technical roles in the Brea Research Center. Jim started his career as a software engineer at Rockwell Marine Systems Division in Anaheim, CA. as a member of the technical staff performing sonar system software development for shipboard and submarine applications for the US and Royal Navy. Jim received his Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from Cal State Long Beach in 1985 and has been an information technology professional for 25 years. He and Catherine have been married for 30 years with two sons, Nathan, age 25, and Alan, age 23.
