About the Person

James ("Jamie") Butler is the Chief Technology Officer at Endgame. He is a recognized leader in attack and detection techniques and has focused in recent years on exploit detection, memory analysis, and virtual machine introspection research. Jamie has a Master of Science degree in Computer Science.   He is the co-author and teacher of "Offensive Aspects of Rootkit Technologies", "Advanced Second Generation Digital Weaponry", and "Memory Forensics in Incident Response". Jamie is also co-author of the Addison-Wesley bestseller, "Rootkits: Subverting the Windows Kernel". In addition, Jamie has co-authored numerous papers and tools, including the popular free memory analysis tool – Memoryze. Jamie is a frequent trainer and speaker at computer security conferences.
