About the Person

Jacob J. (Jay) Ferro, Jr. has been our Executive Vice President and Chief Information and Technology Officer since April 2017. He has extensive experience in executive-level technology and finance roles. He joins ExamWorks from Earthlink where he was Chief Information and Product Officer from July 2016 to April 2017. Prior to joining EarthLink, Mr. Ferro was Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the American Cancer Society. From January 2012 to July 2016 he was responsible for the people, strategy, and operations of hundreds of local offices nationwide. He played an integral role in ACS’s historic transformation, which included the consolidation of 12 independent divisions into a single agile and focused global entity. Mr. Ferro continues to support the ACS and the organization’s important mission to save lives and cure cancer as a senior volunteer. In earlier professional roles, Ferro served as CIO at AdCare Health Systems from August 2011 through January 2012. From June 2006 through August 2011, he first served as the Assistant Vice President of IT, CFO, Operations and Systems, and then promoted to the Chief Information Officer. He was selected as Georgia CIO of the Year in both 2011 and 2015, Global CIO Breakaway Leader in 2013 and Computerworld Premier 100 IT Leader in 2015, among other accolades. Mr. Ferro also dedicates his time to many charitable and community involvement efforts including founding the nonprofit group, Priscilla`s Promise, in honor of his late wife, which raises funds for cervical cancer education and research. Mr. Ferro received a B.A. in political science from the University of Georgis Franklin College of Arts and Sciences and an M.B.A from the University of Georgia Terry College of Business.
