About the Person

As the CTO of the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services,  Ira S. Feuer specializes in project management, software development, and network information systems. He is responsible for managing a staff of 100, overseeing contracts with IBM and other companies that are valued at more than $100 million. He also manages projects that are tasked with developing software, managing software lifecycles and managing network information systems. He attributes his success to his determination, intelligence, and ability to build effective and cohesive teams. He became involved in his profession after starting out with a degree in chemistry and writing algorithms for drug testing. Mr. Feuer earned an MBA from the University of Miami in 1992, having previously received a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from the University of Florida and a Bachelor of Science in computer science from Florida International University. He is a member of IT Solutions Management for Human Services, APHSA.
