NextGate`s mission is to address the fundamental challenge of data management in the healthcare industry: the uncertainties and missed opportunities caused by duplicate and disconnected records in a data population. While implementing interface engine technology for hospitals in the early 1990s, we noticed a troubling trend – as application systems became integrated and exchanged data with each other, problems caused by duplicate and incomplete patient records (previously confined to one system and its MPI) multiplied and contaminated the data quality of other systems.
