Department of Examiners of Public Accounts is the independent legislative audit agency for the State of Alabama. The Department has the authority to perform audits of the accounts of all entities receiving or disbursing public funds. We are part of the Legislative branch of state government, and are independent of the Executive and Judicial branches of state government, as well as all local governments in the State.

FHFA has acted as conservator of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac since September 2008. As a member of the Financial Stability Oversight Council, FHFA collaborates with other regulators to create the market rules that protect and balance the interests of all stakeholders in the housing finance system, including banks, investors, and homeowners.

The Army National Guard, also known as the National Guard, is one component of The Army (which consists of the Active Army, the Army National Guard, and the Army Reserve). The National Guard has a unique Dual Mission that includes both State and Federal roles. Each state, territory, and the District of Columbia has its own National Guard. National Guard Citizen-Soldiers serve their country, state, and community on a part-time basis.
