Girl Scouting exists to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. As the world’s largest organization of girls, we hone the leadership skills and provide the opportunities to make an impact. But it’s the girls who set the agenda. Girl Scouts Heart of the South serves over 9,300 girls with the help of 3,100 volunteers in north Mississippi, west Tennessee, and Crittenden County, Arkansas. Being a Girl Scout makes the world smaller and the girl bigger. More than ever, the challenges that face us are shared. Economic and social changes that once took shape over a generation now ripple around the world in a few years. Learning to connect and take action across boundaries of any kind is now a vital skill. Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vet Tix) is a national 501(c) (3) nonprofit foundation supporting our military community. Vet Tix provides free event tickets to currently serving military, veterans and family members of KIA to sporting events, concerts, performing arts and family activities. Our military and veterans experience many difficult transitions as they reintegrate back into their families, their communities and eventually civilian life. Attending these events improves morale, strengthens family bonds through shared interests and encourages service members to stay engaged with local communities and American life. In gratitude for their service and to support their reintegration, Vet Tix is dedicated to giving back to those who gave us so much.
