St. John’s is home to the largest campus of Memorial University. The Marine Institute, also located in St. John’s, is one of the world’s most respected centres for marine education and applied research. Specialized programs and individualized learning are a strong basis for a professional education in the global oceans sector. Newfoundland’s west coast is home to the Grenfell Campus of Memorial University. With about 1,250 students, Grenfell Campus offers a personalized education with degree programs in liberal arts and sciences, with a focus on the fine arts and the environment. Also in the western region in the coastal community of Norris Point is the Bonne Bay Marine Station.
