Department of Legal Affairs for the State of Florida. A native of Tampa, Pam Bondi became Florida`s 37th Attorney General after being elected on November 2, 2010. Attorney General Bondi was sworn in to office January 4, 2011. Attorney General Bondi is focused on protecting Floridians and upholding Florida`s laws and the Constitution. Some of her top priorities are: defending Florida`s constitutional rights against the federal health care law; strengthening penalties to stop pill mills; aggressively investigating mortgage fraud and Medicaid fraud; and ensuring Florida is compensated for Deepwater Horizon oil spill losses.
