Summary:
The HR Director position is a leadership role in our organization, actively working with executives, managers and employees across Ghirardelli. It requires both strategic thinking and diving deep into practical application with teams at all levels. You will work side by side with the VP of HR on many initiatives. You will develop a vision and strategy that inspires people across different functions and geographies. You and your team consisting of 1 HR Business Partner and 2 HR Generalists will own partnering with all Ghirardelli departments, and aligning HR priorities with business objectives.
You will drive the development and implementation of integrated HR programs that enable performance, engagement and a great culture within our company. A key responsibility is consulting with managers and developing plans to maximize the ability to attract, retain, develop and motivate talent. You will also focus on workforce planning, succession planning, change management, and overall engagement of your client groups. The HR Director maintains an effective level of business literacy about each functional area, Ghirardelli`s financial position, its plans, its culture and its competition.
Scope of Responsibilities/skills:
• Form strong business partnerships with senior leaders across Ghirardelli.
• Build, lead and maintain a high performing HR client facing team.
• Provide proactive HR leadership, sound counsel, and influence to all areas and levels within the company.
• Promote continuous improvement in the development of Human Resources acumen of business leaders through coaching and development.
• Understand organizational needs, analyze trends and partner with both clients and other functional areas as needed to develop and deploy solutions in the following areas
o Organizational design and team effectiveness
o Workforce planning
o Succession planning
o Leadership and manager coaching
o Performance management
o Career coaching and mentoring
o Labor / union relations
• Foster a results-oriented culture through effective coaching and implementation of performance management process and tools
• Understand current staffing needs and priorities, as well as future anticipated needs and interview / provide input on hiring decisions.
• “Keep a finger” on the pulse of the organization by understanding employee perspectives and attending business / staff meetings.
• Drive the talent agenda by ensuring thorough and thoughtful assessment, individual development and succession planning.
• Support and execute functional area initiatives as well as centrally led initiatives that drive the business.
• Provide input to compensation structure, position analysis, decisions and incentives based on sound understanding of roles / career path in functional areas.
• Provide direction and support to all levels of management, particularly in organization design, employee engagement, change management and leadership.
• Utilize key partners in HR (ER, HR Operations, Benefits, Compliance, and Talent Acquisition) to bring resolution to complex employee and talent related issues.
• Partner with HR colleagues to ensure consistency in program frameworks and implementation in functional areas.
• Ensure HR practices are in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements, Ghirardelli Vision, Goal and Values and the Lindt credo.
Specific Knowledge and Skills:

• Experience in HR in the CPG(consumer packaged goods), Manufacturing industry, strongly preferred
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in human resources activities with at least 5 of those in exempt-level work. Union and Labor Relations experience a plus.
• Bachelor`s degree required.
• Experience managing individuals or teams
• Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines
• Previous experience handling the resolution of complex employee coaching and development situations
• PHR, PHR-ca or SPHR certification a plus.
