Canonsburg, PA-based CONSOL Energy has appointed George Rosato as Vice President of Information Systems.
CONSOL Energy Inc. is an American energy company with interests in coal and natural gas production headquartered in the suburb ofCecil Township, in the South Pointe complex, just outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.CONSOL Energy is the leading producer of high-BTUbituminous coal in the United States and the U.S.`s largest underground coal mining company. As of 2011, Consol had 4.4 billion tons of proven reserves, mainly in northern and central Appalachia and produced nearly 64 million tons of coal in 2010.
George F. Rosato is Vice President of Information Systems and Technology for CONSOL Energy, Inc., a diversified energy company headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA. CONSOL Energy is a member of the Standard & Poor's 500 Equity Index and the Fortune 500. Since joining CONSOL in 1987, Rosato has held roles in Accounting, Process Support in Human Resources, and ultimately Information Systems and Technology Management. In 2003, Rosato was selected to be the General Manager of IS&T where his leadership and knowledge proved much success for the company. A short three years later he was promoted to Vice President of Information Systems and Technology where his impact on the organization continues to grow. Now, Rosato is focused on continuing to add value to the organization through process integration, increased efficiencies and overall company continuous improvement. Rosato is often a speaker at various local IT seminars, including The Pittsburgh Technology Council, The Pittsburgh CIO Executive Summit, and Sapphire. In addition, he has been a guest presenter in various classes at Duquesne University. Rosato received a bachelor's degree in Accounting and Computer Science from Robert Morris University and continued on to achieve an MBA and a Master’s in Information Systems Management from Duquesne University. He is a Certified Novell Engineer, a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and a Microsoft Certified Professional + Internet. He also serves as a member of America’s SAP Users’ Group (ASUG), the Duquesne University ISM Advisory Board, a member of the Pittsburgh CIO Group, and plays an active role with the Dormont Athletic Boosters Association. Rosato is a native of the Pittsburgh area and resides in Greentree with his three sons and wife Cassy.
