Gene Patrick Berry has been Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President of OneAmerica Financial Partners, Inc. since June 2010 and August 28, 2014 respectively. Mr. Berry serves as Senior Vice President at American United Life Insurance Company, Inc. He served as Vice President at American United Life Insurance Company, Inc. He served as Vice President of OneAmerica Financial Partners, Inc. In this position his primary job is aligning overall technology direction with the OneAmerica business strategy while providing leadership to the IT community. He leads the information technology council that sets overall technology strategy and direction for OneAmerica and the project evaluation and prioritization committee that reviews large scale initiatives for the enterprise. He is a member of OneAmerica`s enterprise strategy and product review committees and is also a member of OneAmerica`s senior leadership team. He joined OneAmerica in April of 2010 and has more than 30 years of experience in a variety of IT and operational positions. He began his career with Alcoa Aluminum in 1980 as a systems analyst and became their Premium Castings Division MIS Supervisor in 1984. He served as Manager of Life Systems of Fremont Life Insurance Company since 1987 and served as its vice president of IT and Policyowner Services. At Fremont Life, Mr. Berry planned and implemented the conversion of all life insurance and financial systems to an IBM midrange platform that helped Fremont Life reduce its IT budget by 35 percent. He served as Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Shenandoah Life Insurance Company since 1994 and led Shenandoah Life Insurance Company`s conversion off of the mainframe to a state-of-the-art midrange platform that increased productivity throughout Shenandoah Life Insurance Company while lowering systems expenses. He served as senior vice president of Shenandoah Life Insurance Company since 1999. Mr. Berry holds a Bachelor`s Degree in Business Administration with a major in computer science from The Ohio State University and Master`s Degree in business administration and finance from The California State University, Fullerton.
