About the Person
Frederick is responsible for the direction and oversight of Intermountain Healthcare’s information systems architecture. He provides strategic direction for effective data management beyond storage and systems, allowing for efficient flow of information between Intermountain’s 2,500 applications and two electronic medical records. As Intermountain’s chief technology architect, Frederick was responsible for managing the data centers, systems, and storage that support more than 34,000 employees across Intermountain’s service areas. Frederick is also engaged in several efforts for storing unstructured data for use in strategic analytical and marketing purposes. Frederick also oversees Intermountain’s Healthcare Transformation Lab, a team that works with clinicians to find or create solutions that provide high-quality care at lower cost. Before he was named CTO in 2008, Frederick served as Intermountain’s chief technology architect. Prior to joining Intermountain in 1996, Frederick was a principal consultant with Oracle. With an education and background in electronics engineering, Frederick is a recognized expert in analysis and design of enterprise technical architectures.
