Toronto, ON-based Bionym has Appointed Foteini Agrafioti as Chief Technology Officer
Bionym is revolutionizing the way that people are recognized and authenticated by their smart devices and environments. Using its patented HeartID system, Bionym is developing a wearable device that biometrically authenticates the identity of the user based on their unique cardiac rhythm. Foteini Agrafioti is a co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Bionym, a biometrics security company that develops innovative privacy and security solutions. Dr. Agrafioti was an inventor of HeartID, the first biometric technology to authenticate users based on their unique cardiac rhythm. She has published numerous scientific papers on medical biometrics, and serves on the editorial review boards of several scientific journals related to biometric systems and digital signal processing. Dr. Agrafioti holds a Bachelor's degree from the Technical University of Crete, Greece, and MASc and PhD degrees from the University of Toronto. She was named "Inventor of the year" in 2012 at the University of Toronto.
