On April 20, 2012, Florida Governor Rick Scott signed SB 1994 which created Florida Polytechnic University, the state’s 12th and newest member of the State University system. Mission Statement: Florida Polytechnic University’s mission is to educate students emphasizing Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in an innovative, technology-rich, and interdisciplinary learning environment.
