In its “Regional Universities South” category, U.S. News ranks Tuskegee first among Alabama HBCUs, second among regional HBCUs, and 24th among all regional public and private institutions. The university is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
