Collective Change is a crowdfunding platform for nonprofits and social causes. Each month will focus on different category of charitable cause. At the beginning of every month, we ll put up several causes within that months category. You can check out your options and vote for your favorite. With your $15 annual membership, 12 of those dollars are funneled into a collective donation pool. $1 for each month. By doing this, each monthly donation represents the number of people who contributed to that cause. As our community grows, so do those monthly donations. Think about it! If a million people came together with just $1 each month, we will be raising a million dollars each month for a new cause!
Forgotten Harvest was formed in 1990 to fight two problems: hunger and waste. Forgotten Harvest “rescued” 41.5 million pounds of food last year by collecting surplus prepared and perishable food from 800 sources, including grocery stores, fruit and vegetable markets, restaurants, caterers, dairies, farmers, wholesale food distributors and other Health Department-approved sources. This donated food, which would otherwise go to waste, is delivered free-of-charge to more than 280 emergency food providers in the Metro Detroit area.
