Edward L. Hanapole is responsible for the company’s technology strategy and innovation and sets best practices and standards for the company’s individual businesses. Together with Kaplan's business units, Hanapole helps shape Kaplan’s learning and content delivery systems with innovative learning solutions to best suit the needs of the company’s more than one million students it serves annually worldwide. He most recently served as chief information officer for News Corporation's STAR TV based in Hong Kong, one of the largest broadcast media companies in Asia. Prior to STAR TV, Hanapole led IBM's digital media strategy and consulting services that delivered solutions to media and entertainment clients worldwide to embrace the transformation and use of digital media in broadcasting, publishing, telecommunications, online and major sports leagues. Hanapole has also worked as chief information officer for New York Times Digital and has held leadership positions with Simon & Schuster and the Standard & Poor’s division of the McGraw-Hill Companies. Hanapole earned his bachelor of science in telecommunications management at Syracuse University and holds numerous U.S. patents in advanced content management and delivery systems.
