About the Person
A 20-year veteran in the information technology field, Donald Phillips comes to the City of Cleveland from Walsh University, where he served as Chief Information Officer and Associate Vice President. At Walsh, he was responsible for maintaining a service-oriented and agile information technology organization, and developing a reliable and secure technology infrastructure. Phillips also served as the Director of Information Technology at Cleveland Heights – University Heights City School District, an IT Project Manager/IT Architect at Rockwell Automation and a programmer at Dominion East Ohio Gas Company. Phillips will be responsible for leading the Information Technology staff in academic computing support, enterprise applications systems and services, networking and telecommunications, information security, data center operations and user support, as well as training and outreach. He will build and sustain effective partnerships and collaborations with academic and administrative departments, maintain a service-oriented and agile information technology organization, and ensure a reliable and secure technology infrastructure. Phillips holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from John Carroll University, a Master of Science Degree from Case Western Reserve University, and a law degree from the University of Akron.
