Chicago, IL-based The Hillshire Brands has Appointed David W. Stahl as Chief Information Officer  

 

About the Company

The Hillshire Brands Company manufactures and markets meat-centric food solutions worldwide. It operates in two segments, Retail and Foodservice/Other. The company provides various packaged meat and frozen bakery products that include hot dogs and corn dogs, breakfast sausages, breakfast sandwiches and bowls, dinner sausages, premium deli and luncheon meats, and cooked hams, as well as frozen pies, cakes, pastries, muffins, cheesecakes, and other desserts; and pork, beef, and poultry products. The company sells its products under the brand names of Jimmy Dean, Ball Park, Hillshire Farm, State Fair, Sara Lee, and Chef Pierre, as well as artisanal brands that comprise Aidells and Gallo Salame. It serves supermarkets, warehouse clubs, national chains, distributors, restaurants, hospitals, and other institutions through direct sales force and brokers. The company was formerly known as Sara Lee Corporation and changed its name to The Hillshire Brands Company in June 2012.

 

About the Person

Previously, David Stahl was vice president, information technology at Tellabs where he was responsible for all aspects of the company's global IT operations. He led an IT transformation program which resulted in improved service levels, lower costs, and higher operational performance of the IT function. During his tenure at Tellabs he held positions of increasing responsibility from director, global quality assurance to vice president, corporate quality and customer satisfaction. Prior to Tellabs, Stahl served in Quality positions at Underwriters Laboratories, Inc., 3Com Corporation's subsidiary CommWorks, Emerson Electric, and Matsushita Electric Corporation of America. He began his career at Defense Electronics Supply Center. Stahl received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Ohio Northern University. He serves as a member of the board of directors for the QuEST Forum
