David Siegel, Ph.D., Founder and Co-Chairman, Two Sigma Investments, LLCDavid Siegel is founder and Co-Chairman of Two Sigma Investments, LLC.A veteran of both the technology and financial industries, David helped Bear Stearns & Co. create the world's first index arbitrage trading system in 1985.In 1992, he joined D. E. Shaw & Co. to build quantitative trading systems.This system, still in use at D. E. Shaw today, is the core technology for the firm's equity trading.While at D. E. Shaw, David founded and served as President of FarSight Financial Services - an integrated personal financial services website.FarSight performed the world's first retail stock trade on the Internet and was also the first Web site to combine banking and trading features under a single account.In 1997, David joined Tudor Investment Corporation as Chief Technology Officer.At Tudor, he rapidly completed a top-to-bottom overhaul of the firm's entire information processing technology, including trader workstations, risk management systems, and back office software.In 1999, he founded and served as Chief Executive Officer of Blink.com, a consumer Web site providing portable bookmarks to web users who access the Internet from more than one computer. David is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Princeton University.He earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he studied for eight years in the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory.
