David S. Graser brings more than 30 years of health care IT and operations experience to his role as chief information officer for Ardent Health Services. Previously, Graser was senior vice president and chief information officer for Marquette General Health System, an integrated health care system in Marquette, Mich. In addition to leading the system's implementation of a clinical and financial health information system, he served as chief operating officer for 315-bed Marquette General Hospital and CIO of Superior Health Partners, an affiliation of nine hospitals and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan organized around the concepts of population health and accountable care. Earlier in his career, Graser was the Senior VP/CIO of West Jefferson Medical Center in metropolitan New Orleans. He also served in the United States Air Force as a Medical Service Corps Officer where he was named CIO of the year. Graser earned a master's degree and bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Illinois in Champaign/Urbana. He is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and was President Elect of HIMSS for the State of Louisiana.
