The Company`s United States retail operations are located principally in California, Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Colorado, Arizona, Texas, the Chicago metropolitan area and the Mid-Atlantic region. Safeway`s Canadian retail operations are located principally in British Columbia, Alberta and Manitoba/Saskatchewan. In support of its retail operations, the Company has a network of distribution, manufacturing and food-processing facilities.
About the Person
David Ching serves as the Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President of Genuardi's Family Markets, Inc. Mr. Ching served as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Safeway Inc. since 1994. He held management positions at British American Consulting Group included as General Manager-North America. He worked for Lucky Stores Inc., a subsidiary of the American Stores Companies from 1979 to 1993, and was the Senior Vice President of Information Systems in the last five years.
Mr. Ching has been an Independent Director of The TJX Companies, Inc. since June 8, 2007. He has been a Director of Petco Animal Supplies Inc. since November 22, 2005.
Mr. Ching holds a Master's Degree in Management Sciences from Stanford University, a Master's Degree in Computer Sciences from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
