Each year, HFHS trains almost 2,200 future physicians. In 2012, continuing medical education opportunities were provided to more than 70,000 physicians, nurses and allied health professionals. In collaboration with Wayne State University School of Engineering and Center for Creative Studies, the Henry Ford Innovation Institute aims to research and design medical products to enhance medical use and to create new industry in the region. With more than 23,000 employees (2012), Henry Ford is the sixth-largest employer in metro Detroit, and amongst the most diverse. Generating more than $6 billion of annual economic stimulus for metro Detroit, it proudly acts as one of Michigan`s anchor institutions. HFHS is a tobacco-free organization.
