Dave Edstrom is the CEO and CTO for Virtual Photons Electrons and has been in the computer industry for 33+ years. Currently, Dave is working as a full time consultant forAMT - The Association of Manufacturing Technology as the Director for The Office of Strategic Innovation. Dave was named President and Chairman of the Board for the MTConnect Institute in May of 2010 and has been working with the and has been a key contributor to the MTConnect standard. Dave worked for Sun Microsystems for almost 23 years (1987-2010) in a variety of leadership positions. Dave's last position with Sun, from 2004 to 2010, was Chief Technologist for Global Software. Dave has held a variety of positions ranging from an Assembler Programmer, Technical Management, System Engineer, Chief Technologist, Technical Director and Principal Engineer positions for a variety of companies. Dave has been working with Unix since 1981 and had concentrated on Sun's future hardware and software directions since 1988.
