These diverse activities and more are the responsibility of the U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI). The mission of the Office of Inspector General (OIG) is to provide independent oversight and promote excellence, integrity, and accountability within the programs, operations, and management of the U.S. Department of the Interior. We are a highly motivated organization of about 265 employees conducting independent oversight and responding in the best interest of American taxpayers to ensure that DOI earns the public`s trust. We are alert to waste, fraud, and mismanagement, whether expressed as administrative waste or criminal activity, and we use a range of audit and investigative tools to ensure that the Secretary of the Interior, Congress, and the public are informed when changes to DOI programs become necessary to achieve this goal.
The NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC) opened March 1, 2006, on the grounds of Stennis Space Center in Mississippi. NSSC is a public/private partnership between NASA and Computer Sciences Corporation Service Providers. NSSC consolidated selected activities from all NASA Centers in the areas of: Financial Management, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Procurement. The NSSC is a center that performs a variety of transactional and administrative activities that were being done at each Center. Consolidation allows the NSSC to increase operational efficiency and improve overall customer service. Initial services provided by the NSSC will be from four functional areas: human resources, financial management, procurement, and information technology.
The Charlotte Host Committee, CLT Host 2020, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) not for profit economic development organization with no political affiliation. CLT Host 2020, Inc. is responsible for hosting and funding the 2020 Republican National Convention to be held in Charlotte, North Carolina from August 24 - 27, 2020. As an economic development organization, CLT Host 2020, Inc. will highlight the Queen City`s premier business environment which supports the skilled and diverse workforce responsible for the region`s growth in national and international corporate offices and local businesses. The Charlotte region, North Carolina, and South Carolina offer an undeniable energy, full of passionate people from all walks of life whose differences make our communities stronger. CLT Host 2020, Inc. aims to showcase these characteristics and how our residents have created a world-class convention and event destination that attracts sporting events, corporate functions, and international art and musical tours. CLT Host 2020, Inc. is excited for the 2020 Republican National Convention and the positive experience it will bring for Charlotte, our community, and everyone involved – residents, businesses, and guests. This event will be a tremendous undertaking and will require committed volunteers from across the region, our two states, and the nation.
