The New England Aquarium is the only Boston-based cultural institution with a mission focused primarily on the environment, combining education, entertainment and action to address the ocean`s most challenging problems. More than 1.3 million visitors explore our diverse exhibits on Central Wharf on Boston’s waterfront each year. The Convergent Research team helps incubate and launch Focused Research Organizations, a new model to fill gaps in the R&D ecosystem to tackle global challenges as Schmidt Futures Network`s first initiative. At Convergent Research we launch large-scale, high-impact science projects. We aim to help fill a structural gap in today`s R&D system. We enable fundamental research that requires unusual levels of scale and coordination yet is not rapidly monetizable by industry.
The Baldwin Centers mission is to feed, clothe, educate and empower the men, women and children of the Pontiac community. We are a nonprofit organization. The Center has been serving our neighbors since 1981 and currently offers more than 25 support programs that meet basic needs, offer assistance in a crisis, provide education and enrichment opportunities for adults and children, and serve as a safety net. We envision people of all ages and cultures sharing the belief that they can create and shape how they live and grow within the community.
