About the Person

In her new role, Colleen Lyons will focus on the strategic plan for implementing and operationalizing clinical information systems and services throughout the three sites. She will leverage information systems to optimize workflow and improve clinical performance and care. Lyons has been with the North Shore-LIJ Health System since 2013, most recently serving as the Regional Director for Clinical Information Systems focusing on both Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and clinical system integration across the western region of the Health System. Prior to joining North Shore-LIJ, she held the position of Corporate Director of Information Services at Continuum Health Partners, Inc., where she led a team of technical strategists responsible for upgrading clinical programs and applications. Throughout her professional career, Lyons has been invited to speak at various industry functions, including the Annual Cloud Forum and the eClinical Works National Users Conference. She has also co-authored an article entitled “Strategy and Governance for Successful Implementation of an Enterprise-Wide Ambulatory EMR,” which received national attention. Lyons received her B.S. in computer science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Indiana, PA and her M.B.A. from Monmouth University in West Long Branch, NJ. She also holds several advanced certifications, including Certified Project Manager (PMP) and Certified Healthcare Information & Management System Professional (CPHIMS).
