About the Person
For over 20 years, Elizabeth (Coco) Taliaferro has been working her way up within General Cable Corporation, a Fortune 500 company. Taliaferro entered General Cable around 1990 as VP of Operations Analysis and Inventory Management bringing with her a Harvard MBA and experience from Penn Central Corporation where she worked her way to Director of Financial Controls. General Cable develops, designs, manufactures, markets and distributes aluminum, copper, and fiber-optic wire and cable products to OEMs and distributors in a variety of markets including communications, construction, and military/government. Taliaferro has played important roles in the company including Controller for the Consumer Products Group, VP, Supply Chain Management and General Manager, Industrial and Specialty Products. In November of 2004, Taliaferro was promoted to SVP Corporate Development and IT and then received her current title in 2005 as SVP and CIO of General Cable after the company had to fire its former CIO for fraud.
