The Town of Freetown is a pastoral community in Bristol County with a small summer colony and a maritime history. The County, which employs more than 10,000, is governed by a seven-member County Commission, elected from geographic districts on a partisan basis for staggered four-year terms. The Commission in turn hires a county manager responsible for administrative operations.
