The City of Miami is known as the “Magic City” and is the largest municipality in Miami-Dade County. Our world renowned skyline stretches across Biscayne Bay. According to the most recent US Census estimates (July 2015) 441,003 people call Miami home. Many of our residents come from Caribbean Islands and Central and South America. Duties include to comment on all land-use items in their borough, advocate borough needs in the annual municipal budget process, appoint Community Boards, chair the Borough Boards, and serve as ex officio members of various boards and committees. They generally act as advocates of their boroughs at the mayoral agencies, the city council, the New York State government, public corporations and private businesses.
