About the Person

Cindy Berger has been VP and CIO of Arizona Public Service Company since 2012. She heads the IT department where she oversees the company’s vital electronic infrastructure and manages the digital challenges faced by a major electric utility. She also leads the Lean Six Sigma improvement process. Prior to this role, Berger served APS as general manager of IT and general manager of business integration and operations. Before joining APS, Berger worked more than 25 years for American Express in roles of increasing responsibility, most recently as VP of global corporate technologies. She led a global team of more than 500 employees and contractors and managed an operating and investment budget of over $100M. During her tenure, Berger supported enterprise transformation to a global shared services model across corporate functions and significantly improved employee satisfaction with corporate processes and technologies. With her experience managing global technology, finance and business organizations, she is recognized for proven success in delivering business value through information technology. Berger earned a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Arizona State University and is a CPA. She serves on the board of the Arizona Children’s Association.
