About the Person

Christopher Fryer began his technology career at the age of 10 when he had a Honeywell terminal and an acoustic coupler in his bedroom. Graduating to an Apple II a few years later, he credits Steve Jobs with jump starting his career. Christopher is now the Director of Information Technology at mid-sized law firm Hanson Bridgett LLP in San Francisco where he has worked for 11 years. During this time, he led a team of 12 technologists to overhaul the firm’s technology through multiple large projects and, in 2011, became a member of Hanson Bridgett’s Management Committee with an emphasis on innovation and technology. Prior to Hanson Bridgett, Christopher co-owned a technology consulting business focused on the legal market. In the mid-1990s, Chris had a lead role in upgrading and managing the international law firm Graham and James LLP's firm-wide computer systems. Mr. Fryer graduated from UC Santa Cruz in 1991 with a B.S. in Environmental Studies. Following his passion to protect the environment, Chris worked in fundraising and then as the IT Manager for the California League of Conservation Voters for four years after college. Occasionally, Chris gets to go skiing or scuba diving – two of his favorite things.
